Wellbeing

This child-centred approach to wellbeing looks at each child’s strengths and struggles in the context of their relationships and surroundings, helping adults understand what the child is ready for and how to support their growth in a safe, balanced, and responsive way.

Observation 

Noticing how children relate, express their needs, and respond to the world around them—in places like home, school, and with friends. We focus on strengths and what helps the child  feel safe rather than what’s “wrong.”

We notice creativity, courage, and connection—even when these show up through big feelings or challenging behaviour—and use this to guide and inform supports. 

Valuation 

We consider the personal and financial impacts of action or inaction by listening to children and families across key areas of wellbeing, helping guide fair decisions and resource use based on how effective the support is, both immediately and over time.

Evidence 

The Evidence domain gathers insights from observations, standardised tools, and lived experience to build a complete picture of a child’s challenges and strengths. It highlights how the child is functioning in everyday life, across home, school, relationships, and communication, with a focus on what supports are needed for growth and wellbeing.

Narrative

Through intergenerational insight, developmental understanding, and culturally anchored reflection, we construct a narrative of the child's life that is comprehensive, honouring, and actionable. This narrative informs therapeutic approaches, systemic supports, and relational interventions to ensure the child is seen, heard, and supported in their fullest context.
